Last year, around this time brand new info was coming out about the Xbox 360. The 360 launched on November 22nd, 2005 and is currently the only next-gen console on the market right now. The current stats for this remarkable machine in Europe alone is 1.3 Million consoles helping the Xbox 360 reach 5 million units sold by the end of June...making it the fastest to sell in that time frame. Xbox Live

Xbox Live has shaped the way we play our games. Currently there are MILLIONS of players connected to Xbox Live with 60% of them using the Gold Service. That is up 10% from the original Xbox Live. Over 1,200 pieces of downloadable content and since E3 the downloads have skyrockets from 18 million downloads to over 57 million downloads!

Xbox Live Arcade

The Xbox Live Arcade was an instant hit the day the 360 launched. There are over 10 million downloads of arcade trials and games. Sensible World of Soccer will be making its way to the Xbox Live Arcade as will, the mega hit title Doom, Lumines Live, Contra, Ultimate Mortal Combat 3, Small Arms, Gyrums, Totemball, Defender, Assault Heroes, Heavy Weapon, Carcassonne, and Settlers of Catan will all be released for the world to play in the near future.

Downloadable Content

X'06 is kicking off just like E3 did. Huge gaming news, and TONS of downloadable content. Oh...and did i mention a game called Halo is also mentioned at X'06? And amazingly its not about Halo 3....

Some other tidbits of info that i was able to find is that the HD-DVD add-on will be sold at a very small price of $199. This past E306 Briefing ended with the official announcement of Halo 3. Halo is now back...and it closed out this years X'06 Briefing by releasing a trailer for the upcoming title Halo Wars. A real-time strategy game based on the storyline off the previous Halos.
